Client Description:
For one of the leading players in the logisitc industry field we are looking for a DevOps Engineer.
The deputy of the release and CI CD manager works closely with the release and CI CD manager in Geneva and collaborates with other members of the release and CI CD team in Chennai, India, to support teams located in Switzerland, India, USA and Italy. His main goals will consist of enforcing release management and CI CD best practices to improve the delivery quality, efficiency, and speed for MSC’s IT project portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and coordinate the implementation of release management best practices
Implement and help standardize new release management best practices
Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
Represent Release manager during Change Advisory Boards meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
Produce monthly release management reporting
Communicate release details and schedules to the Business when required
Maintains release management documentation and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists, etc
Manage release dependencies and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
Negotiate, plan and help manage all release related activities
Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
Train and support teams for release best practices adoption
Document processes and implementation best practices
Candidate Profile:
- Knowledge of Agile methods and practices (preferably scrum)
- At least 3 years of release and/or project management experience
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams toward task completion
- Good understanding of DevOps
- At least 5 years of experience in IT projects
- Experience in large projects including offshore
- Knowledge in shipping/transport industry
Technical:
- PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Ability to interpret and write source code (Microsoft languages)
- Management of infrastructure assets (network, servers, operating systems, DBs)
- Familiarity with software packing tools (.exe, .rpm, Docker)
- Good knowledge of version control tools (Git)
- Familiarity with cloud providers (preferably Azure)
- Familiarity with security/vulnerability tools
- Familiarity with monitoring tools
- Familiarity with coding analysis tools like Sonar
